Jürgen Wirtgen Stiftung and Stefan Wirtgen Stiftung
Two „Start-up-Scholarships“ at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences
Entrepreneurship and a strong start-up mindset are important for an economy. Time and again, founders manage to bring a wide variety of innovations to market maturity and thus challenge established companies. The result is competition for the best ideas, which promotes the progress of a society. It therefore makes economic sense to promote interest and motivation in founding a company and the skills required to do so.
With the "Start-up Scholarships", the Wirtgen Stiftungen are supporting two young female students to practically combine theoretical business management aspects with their own business idea as part of a Master's degree programme. Modules such as product development and project management, business models and finance as well as sales, marketing, business management and presentation techniques are integral parts of the curriculum. When awarding the scholarships, particular emphasis was placed on social aspects, regionality, voluntary work and the degree of innovation of the business idea.
The Wirtgen Stiftungen wish the two young entrepreneurs a lot of enthusiasm in setting up their own business and every success with their studies.
