RENOVATION OF THE SHOOTING CLUB OF THE ST. SEBASTIANUS SCHÜTZENBRUDERSCHAFT IN RAHMS.

The home of the St. Sebastianus shooting club from Neustadt/Rahms is located in the immediate vicinity of the headquarters of the Wirtgen Stiftungen. For the club, which is now over 100 years old and has almost 120 members, the club’s own building is the hub of club life. In addition to numerous training sessions and competitions, the shooting sports enthusiasts celebrate their sporting successes and various club festivals there, crown their royal couple once a year and cultivate the community of the entire village there.

As a result of the pandemic and the sharp rise in costs, urgently needed renovations and repairs have been reduced to a minimum or postponed in recent years. Under the passionate and professional leadership of Johannes and Stefan Heßeler, and with the dedication of about 600 working hours of the members, the club members have given their clubhouse a new shine. The shooters are particularly proud of their new electronic small-bore rifle system, as the old conventional system had come to the end of its working life. In view of the high operating costs, energy-intensive thermal bridges were eliminated and a barrier-free toilet facility was installed on the ground floor for the shooters, who are now restricted by age. By assuming all material costs, the Wirtgen Stiftungen support the voluntary and at the same time loving commitment of the club members.

The Wirtgen Stiftungen wish the shooting club a lot of fun and success with and on the new shooting range in the coming years, as well as many cozy and convivial hours in the “living room” Rahms.
