NEW CLUBHOUSE FOR WINDHAGEN

Windhagen Sports Club, Windhagen
Community sport – it shapes a sports club, and “SV Windhagen” is no exception.
The coach blows his whistle signifying the end of the training session. After showering, the players and coaches come together in the clubhouse to discuss certain scenes from the most recent match. Some of them reminisce about the last championship over cold drinks and admire the in part “historic” team photos.

The club’s “lounge” has seen better days, though. So, the members of the Windhagen Sports Club took full advantage of the break in training and competition due to the pandemic to carry out repairs and renovation work. In line with the current regulations, the roof over the stand was extended and the clubhouse renovated and remodelled by a team comprising members from all sections of the club, who volunteered around 350 hours of their time for the project. The result is a sports facility whose rooms create a special atmosphere that bridges the generations and form an inviting space for convivial social gatherings.

The electrical work was funded by the local council; all the other materials and furnishings required for the project were paid for by the local Family Office. As a company with close ties to the region, WIRTGEN INVEST supports selected projects that sustainably promote the activities of non-profit clubs and especially social togetherness amongst the members.

With the completion of the work and the associated inauguration celebration, the members now have a newly renovated “lounge” where new club history will be written in the future.
