AN NEW INVESTMENT ON THE IBERIAN PENINSULA.

WIRTGEN INVEST has been anchored on the Iberian Peninsula since 2018 and has made a name for itself in the market with a portfolio of six solar parks, which together represent one of the largest projects in Portugal. In the north of Spain, in the region of Castilla y León, the project rights for another photovoltaic project named Caelum with a total output of around 119 MWp have now been acquired.

It is expected that the park will produce around 195,000 MWh of green electricity in order to supply around 28,000 four-person households with energy and save 82,000 tons of CO₂ annually.

With a firmly secured grid connection and an almost completed land security, the approval procedures to achieve construction readiness are currently underway. The construction work should be able to start in the 2nd quarter of 2022 and the park will therefore be commissioned by mid-2023.
