AN INVESTMENT WITH GREAT POTENTIAL FOR THE FUTURE.

Wind power is an established and mature form of renewable energy used in Scandinavia in addition to hydroelectric power.

The Laxåskogen Wind Park in the southeast of Sweden has been online since February 2019. Seven Siemens-Gamesa turbines with a hub height of 135 meters, an overall height of 200 meters and each with an output of 3.6 megawatts generate around 76,400 MWh annually. According to the OECD methodology this equates to savings of approximately 36,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. The generated energy is enough to completely supply around 20,000 four-person households with electricity.

The energy generated is marketed without any subsidies via the Scandinavian electricity exchange NordPool. Representing the first fully operational wind energy project for the WIRTGEN INVEST group the Laxåskogen project is an impressive example of the competitiveness of renewable energies in the European electricity mix.
