The administration of complex commercial property portfolios requires a different type of expertise than supervising and monitoring the growth of financial investments. But all of the information still has to be consolidated in a balance sheet. Right from the start, the focus was on establishing effective processes by leveraging the synergy of different business areas – becoming a digital family office, as it were. “We operate in different business areas, but still want to have a complete overview at all times, of course.” To this end, a professional in-house IT infrastructure was established built on four pillars: a document management system, in which all the information from each of the business areas is gathered and processed centrally, a comprehensive reporting system, a property management system and the payment service. The objective is to achieve as high a degree of automation as possible for all of the functions of a family office. All the information from all of the business fields is bundled and processed with the help of automated interfaces. To this end, the company works with different strategic partners, such as the specialist software vendors iComps in the area of asset reporting and Crem Solutions in the area of property management. The investment in the in-house digital infrastructure at WIRTGEN INVEST is fully in keeping with its business strategy: to build up assets in a sustainable and holistic manner. This means not only taking into account the needs of tomorrow, but already factoring in the requirements of the day after tomorrow too.
