STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS IN EUROPEAN SMES IN THIS TIME OF CRISIS.

Since mid-March, WIRTGEN INVEST has made investments in a portfolio of nine medium-sized European enterprises. These companies – in the fields of health care, industry and information technology – are all well-established and have long-term growth prospects.
The investments were undertaken through a partner that pools the voting rights of various investors and acts as a strategic advisor to the management of the target companies. No supervisory board seats are being sought. Rather, the commitments are intended as strategic equity holdings with a longer investment horizon; this participation is further meant to show confidence in European SMEs which are strongly affected by the corona crisis. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for WIRTGEN INVEST to utilize the crisis as an attractive entry point.
