SECURITY WITH RENEWABLE ENERGIES.

“Our investment in Poland has a clear objective. To promote and generate renewable energy profitably.” The Barwice Wind Park is situated in a windy region of Northern Poland. Since March 2020, 14 Siemens-Gamesa wind turbines with a combined rated capacity of 42 megawatts have been generating around 112 million kWh of clean energy annually, which is enough to supply around 27,000 four-person households with electricity. According to the OECD methodology, it will also save approximately 48,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. As such, this method of generating power is demonstrably environmentally friendly.

The Barwice Wind Park has been the first wind park of its size going online in Poland subject to public tender and the second wind energy project for the WIRTGEN INVEST group. Thanks to the subsidy scheme for renewable energy, repayment is predictable with tariffs fixed for 15 years. At the same time, part of the energy generated can be marketed freely via the Polish Power Exchange, thus preserving any future opportunities associated with rising electricity prices.
