SOLAR PARK MARGARITI – ANOTHER LARGE PV PARK SUCCESSFULLY CONNECTED BY WIRTGEN INVEST

With the photovoltaic park Margariti, WIRTGEN INVEST's first investment in renewable energies in Greece was successfully connected to the grid at the end of 2023.

Located near the northwest coast of the country, near the island of Corfu, the pv park was built with a nominal output of 49.9 MWp and more than 92,000 installed bifacial PV modules from Longi. The park extends over the back of an otherwise undeveloped valley and the top of one of the flanking hills. The grid connection takes place via a newly built substation, which already has capacity for connecting other projects in the region.

In the future, the pv park will produce around 76 million kWh of green electricity per year, which will supply around 21,500 households and save over 32,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

In the long term, the project will market its electricity via a state-guaranteed 20-year feed-in tariff.
